What if there’s
a better way?
A different way to create value. A clearer basis for a difficult decision. An idea worth bringing to life. These are the questions that draw me in — and the work I have taken responsibility for as an adviser, a leader and an entrepreneur. I look closely at how a business works, see possibilities across disciplines and work with people to turn them into something useful.

Bringing the right
strengths together
Experience
Understanding the business.
Taking it forward.
How does a business create value — and what needs to work differently? That question runs through my career: from international value chains and restructuring to my own company, sustainable business models and, today, artificial intelligence. My contribution combines commercial judgment, the design of workable structures and responsibility for delivery.
≈2×Annual revenue, year on year
Approximately doubled annual revenue over a four-year growth period in my own business. Growth earned through customer acquisition, pricing, reliable delivery and the daily work of running a company. 2023–2026Sustainability as a business transformationTÜV Rheinland Consulting · Senior Advisor+
Led international programmes connecting sustainability requirements with strategy, management processes and new services. Developed circular-economy portfolio concepts and assessed more than 80 software solutions to inform client choices and technology partnerships.
Brought a demanding group-wide carbon-footprint programme to completion: coordinated an international team and specialist partners, established clear responsibilities and organised data and reporting for external scrutiny.
The same business-model perspective shaped advisory offerings, executive workshops and a multidisciplinary network spanning legal, audit and consulting expertise.
2020–2022Building the conditions for investmentBrainergy Park Jülich · Head of Corporate Settlements & Marketing+
Designed and implemented the selection and scoring framework for a 52-hectare energy-transition business park. Led the assessment, stakeholder alignment and commercial negotiations for more than 170 company applicants across multiple rounds.
Connected the commercial logic of proposed businesses with the park’s innovation and sustainability objectives. Worked with three municipalities, companies and specialist advisers to turn competing interests into decisions and workable settlement agreements.
Led marketing and public relations alongside company settlements. Clear criteria made decisions understandable — including for applicants who did not receive a plot.
2014–2020Building a business. Earning its growth.Entrepreneur & independent consultant+
Built and ran an independent service business, taking responsibility for strategy, customer acquisition, pricing and delivery. Annual revenue approximately doubled year on year over a four-year growth period. That experience made the connection between a compelling offer, workable economics and reliable execution very tangible.
Advised start-ups on business-model design, service portfolios and market positioning in upcycling and the circular economy. The work centred on what customers would value, how an offer could stand apart and how it could sustain a business.
Developed and sold tailored production workflows that client teams could operate in-house, as well as immersive digital showrooms supporting the customer journey. Innovation had to prove useful in everyday work.
2007–2014Where rigor met real businessEY · goetzpartners · KPMG+
My first years in international consulting set a high standard for the quality of my work. At EY and KPMG, transfer-pricing engagements meant understanding how entire groups created value across borders: their activities, responsibilities, risks and commercial relationships.
At goetzpartners, that perspective carried into transformation and restructuring: redesigning processes, developing performance measures and connecting data across systems so management could track progress against the underlying business.
Project responsibility, international teams and demanding client relationships taught me to turn a well-founded analysis into a decision — and a decision into work that could be delivered.
Approach
A clear direction.
A team that can deliver.
I ask questions early, make the choices explicit and bring different strengths into the work. Structure should help people act with confidence. The measure is whether it works — commercially, operationally and for the people involved.
People
Build understanding.
Earn commitment.
I want to understand what matters to each person before asking for commitment. In Jülich, that meant aligning three municipalities and explaining selection decisions to company applicants. A decision could disappoint and still be understood and accepted.
In practice: stakeholder interests, clear criteria and reasons people can follow.
Innovation
Design for the need.
Make it usable.
I use the Business Model Canvas to connect customer needs, the offer and the economics; design thinking helps test assumptions from the user’s perspective. In my own business, this led to tailored production workflows that non-specialist client teams could run themselves.
In practice: customer need → viable model → usable solution.
Responsibility
Make decisions clear.
Keep them accountable.
Who decides, on what basis, and who owns the next step? Those questions shape my approach to governance. In a group-wide carbon-footprint programme, clear responsibilities and traceable data made a complex international effort manageable and its reporting open to scrutiny.
Methodical grounding: PRINCE2 Agile and Scrum; practical emphasis on ownership, review and adaptation.
Expertise
How rules, incentives
and ideas shape business.
My doctorate in economics explored why reforms stall and how institutions and incentives influence what people do. That perspective still shapes my work: governance, organisational culture, business models and the conditions for transformation. Continued study gives me new methods and technical understanding to put it into practice.

About
I question what is.
Then get involved.
I am drawn to unrealised potential — in an idea, a business or a person.
I like getting to the heart of a subject, connecting ideas that usually sit apart and working with people whose strengths complement my own. I bring a point of view, welcome a thoughtful challenge and care about the quality of what we create together. Understanding the detail is part of taking responsibility for the result.
Writing, speaking and teaching are ways of sharing that work and sharpening my thinking. Longstanding community involvement matters to me, too. Away from work, I find space to think on a hiking trail, a road bike or a journey with a backpack.
